Ahhhh, the perils of couch grass.
There are some weeds we see on our allotments that we pull up and sling onto the compost pile, there are some that are small enough to cover over with soil and they will never see the light of day again.
There are some that you can decapitate using a hoe and leave the severed parts to shrivel and die....but there is one weed that has to be treated like the spawn of the devil...like the broom that Mickey mouse chopped up in The sorcerers apprentice...like zombies of the apocalypse...
Every last blade, snippet or root will rise again. According to some, it can't be killed by weedkiller or light deprivation...or mutilation....possibly only FIRE would do it.
Don't know about you, but I don't fancy torching my plot any time soon.
So I've decided to conduct an experiment to see what works and what does not.
If it's as tough as they say, the experiment could last a LONG time.....
But I'm sure it will be worth it. If I'm feeling really brave, I'll make a you tube video about it so you can hear my black country accent in full swing!
